Host Payment Policy
Host Deposit & Balance payments are paid according to your current Host Status and the relative listing's Cancellation Policy. For details of when deposit and balance payments are issued, check your host status and the relative percentage & payout frequency depending on your listing's cancellation policy as detailed below. To check your current Host Status, log in to your account, click on your Avatar and select Account, followed by Host Rating. Host Ratings change depending on the performance of your account and your listings, for details check the section Host Upgrades & Downgrades further below.
New Hosts Payment Policy
New Hosts are charged a host fee of 3.5% + VAT on confirmed bookings which is deducted from the host rate. Deposit and Balance percentages on host payouts and their frequency are detailed in the table below, depending on the cancellation policy which applies to the relative listing/booking.

Professional Hosts Payment Policy
Professional Hosts (Partners) are charged a specific host fee on confirmed bookings. Deposit and Balance percentages and their frequency are dependant on the cancellation policy which applies to the relative host/listing as well as the number of listings. If you are a host with more than 10 listings you may opt for Professional Host Status on sign up. Contact host support for further information.
Host Upgrades & Downgrades
New Host Upgrade to Active Host
- 1 Completed Booking in New Host Status to be upgraded to Active Host
- If you decline a booking request or a booking request is left to expire, your Completed Bookings count is reset to 0
- Listing/s will be suspended if you reach 3 Declined or Expired Booking Requests, or, No Response to 3 Enquiries within a 12 month period.
Active Host Upgrade to Priority Host
- 3 Completed Bookings in Active Host Status to be upgraded to Priority Host (Partner) Status
- If you decline a booking request or a booking request is left to expire, your Completed Bookings count is reset to 0
- Host Status will be downgraded to New Host Status if you reach 3 Declined or Expired Booking Requests, or, No Response to 3 Enquiries within a 12 month period.
Retaining Priority Host or Professional Host Status
- If you advertise on any other portal an iCal link is compulsory before you can be upgraded to Priority or Professional Host (Partner) Status. Certain hosts may be exempt from this requirement, depending on how long they have been listed on holiday-malta.com and their host performance.
- Host Status will be downgraded to Active Host Status if you reach 2 Declined or Expired Booking Requests, or, No Response to 2 Enquiries within a 12 month period.
