A Charming City-Center Retreat ! Nestled down a short alley, this holiday home welcomes you through gates that open onto a path and inner courtyard. External stone steps lead up to a spacious exterior terrace. The ground floor features a large living room with a wood-burning stove, a dining area, and a kitchen. There's also a convenient downstairs bathroom. Patio doors open to the courtyard and a lovely pool area, a rare find so close to the city center. Enjoy outdoor dining with a large stone BBQ. Inside, a spiral staircase leads to the first floor, where you'll find two twin rooms, a double room, and three ensuite bathrooms with showers. The beautiful original tiled floors add to the property's charm. The house is equipped with fans and air conditioning in the bedrooms, providing both cool air and heat for your comfort.

A visit to Gozo should begin in Victoria, the island's capital. Victoria was named after the English monarch Queen Victoria, to commemorate her Silver Jubilee in 1897. Even today, many locals still refer to it by its original name, Rabat (which means city). This little commercial hub with its street market (known as it-Tokk, in Independence Square) also contains the Citadel, a strategic point which owes its origins to the late mediaeval era, and which was re-fortified by the Knights of the Order of St. John to act as protection for the inhabitants. For many centuries, pirates and corsairs used Gozo's small harbors for shelter, while they raided the island in search of fresh produce and water. Often they took the inhabitants captives in order to sell them as slaves. To save themselves and their families from this terrifying fate, the inhabitants, on discovering the enemy had landed, would flee to the highest point at the center of the Island.
