Mdina Medieval Festival

The Mdina Medieval Festival is organised every April in the streets of Mdina, and it is usually held in April on the same day of another popular event in the neighbouring village of Mgarr - "The Strawberry Festival". During this event, the Silent City of Mdina transforms itself into medieval times with a number of re-enactments in the beautiful streets of this "once" capital city of Malta and it's village square. This festival will give you a taste of the dress and life during medieval Malta including scenes from the slave market, medieval kitchens & taverns, sword fighting, archery, parades, flag throwing and more.  The festival is organisded by the Mdina local council and serves as a cultural and educational exchange between locals and foreign groups. Visiting this event is a must to get a real feeling of what Malta was like in the medieval times, besides enjoying the the rest of this beautiful city. During this festival all tourist attractions extend their opening hours and offer special prices to all tourists and locals alike.
