Booking type & messaging
Booking Type -There are a two ways to book a holiday home on holiday-malta.com. Some hosts set their holiday homes on a request to book basis, whilst others will set them up on instant booking. Guests will see each of these buttons on the relative holiday home listing. In order to book a holiday home, guests would need to create an account and complete their profile.
Request to Book - The Request to Book button sends a reservation request to a host for the specific dates the guest selects. The host has the option to either accept or decline the request, or ask the guest questions prior to accepting the request. When a host responds to a guest request, we send you an email to let you know. Booking requests expire in 24 hours if either the host or guest do not take action.
Instant Book - The Instant Book button immediately confirms a guest reservation. Guests will receive a booking confirmation email with your booking details which is also accessible through your account.
Messaging - Once guests have created an account and complete their profile, they can contact hosts, using the messaging system by clicking the Contact Host button prior to booking. Guests and hosts can use the messaging system to discuss details, or to clarify any questions between the two parties.
Payment and confirmation - Whether a guest uses the Request to Book button or the Instant Book button, holiday-malta.com will ask for payment in order to confirm and complete the booking. Note that in the case of request to book, payment is only requested once a host has accepted a booking request. If a guest uses the Instant Book button, the reservation will be immediately confirmed once payment is processed immediately.
