How to get there

Owned by a careful antique enthusiast, the home was always meant to be a private getaway home for the family and is now being offered as a vacation rental property. Mostly popular with the British, German, Dutch and French. Entrance is through a quaint and typical Gozitan courtyard, that has both shaded and sunny parts, leading to a staircase that takes you to the 1st floor. The house has 3 bedrooms, two of which are on the ground floor that are adjacent to another room, that can be used as a an extra bedroom when required. One bedroom has two single beds and is also adjacent to a spacious shower room fully equipped with WC and washbasin. The other bedroom on the ground floor is the double master bedroom also equipped with a bathroom ensuite. The 1st floor consists of the separate rustically styled Kitchen, and a large living and dining room that are combined. The living and dining room are the heart of the house that overlook the pool area which is spacious and excellent for sunbathing or swimming in the 22 ft x 13 ft swimming pool. The living area is equipped with comfortable sofas , armchairs , TV, and a fireplace. The third bedroom is also on this level, with bunk beds. There is a shower room with wc on this level to serve this bedroom.

DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY

Gharb means West and this typical old Gozitan village unsurprisingly lies in the West of the Island. It started life as a small hamlet centuries ago. You can see its ancient roots in the centre of the village where some houses have fine example of decorated stone balconies. Gharb was created a parish in 1679, a move which gave impetus for the building of a new, baroque parish church. Built between 1699 and 1729, it has an elegant facade which has been compared with Borromini's S. Agnese in Piazza Navona, Rome. This version is naturally a simpler interpretation of the style. The village square, so quintessentially Gozitan, has become the view on many a postcard. On the square is a fascinating folklore museum housing all sorts of memorabilia retelling the Islands' rural history. Gharb lies in some of Gozo's most delightful countryside, particularly at Dbiegi, the highest hill on the Island. Also at Dbiegi is a centre for Gozitan crafts. Within the limits of Gharb is the quaint Chapel of San Dimitri. Just off Gharb one can make his way to see the stunning view at the Azure Window.
